The rolling linear guide pair is used to support and guide moving parts, performing reciprocating linear motion in the given direction. Even under load, it can easily and smoothly guide linear motion, becoming an indispensable component of all linear motion parts such as machine tools and semiconductor manufacturing devices.
The Japan Machine Tool Industry Association refers to these products as "linear guides", THK names them "LM rolling guides", and sometimes in the industry, they are also referred to as "linear bearings", "linear sliding rails", etc.
According to the rolling components, it can be divided into three categories: roller linear guide, cylindrical/roller linear guide, and ball linear guide. The rolling component of the ball linear guide is steel beads. The rolling component of the roller/cylindrical linear guide is a roller, which is a cylinder and in line contact with the guide and slider, thus having a greater load-bearing capacity and higher stiffness.
According to the industry standard JB/T 7175.1-2001, a linear guide way refers to a guide rail with a specific cross-sectional shape and one or more longitudinal raceways for slider movement (note: there are mounting holes on the guide rail).
Structurally, the Linear Rolling Guide consists of three parts: a "guide rail" that supports sliding seat movement, a moving part "slider", and a rolling element.
THK's track is a representative of high-precision in the industry, and its materials are much better than those of Taiwanese brands, with significant differences in durability and wear resistance. Therefore, in high-precision industries such as the semiconductor industry, THK tracks are still the preferred choice.
